[TYPO3-english] Unable to link in HTMLarea after installation of DAM

I have cleared the cache both in backend and the files in typo3temp. 
Same result. When I look at the specifik file, 
typo3/sysext/rtehtmlarea/htmlarea/plugins/TYPO3Link/typo3link.js, the 
patch above does not seem to have been applied. Is it safe to apply the 
4.4-patch on 4.5?
