[TYPO3-english] Problems with high-ASCII in front end only...

Believe me, I understand, Olivier. And with certain clients it can be a
real battle to get them to take updates to their site seriously. (Until
it breaks...)

On the other hand, I recognise that some organisations with limited
resources aren't always able to be as reactive as I'm sure they'd
ideally like.

In this case, I don't think it's either scenario - more the desire to
provide a fixed goal rather than a moving target, and 4.4.6 may have
made sense at time those goals were set.

The site's not publicly accessible yet, so the risk of hacking is
somewhat reduced. Hopefully, they'll have been updating their other
sites in the meantime, and this one will get updated before being made
public too. We'll certainly be encouraging that. But for now, we just
have to stick to the specified version.

Thanks,

Bob
