[TYPO3-english] BE logout issues

We suddenly began to experience problems with logging into the BE of typo3.  This is happening on a variety of versions.

apparently what is going on is when a second user logs into the back end of typo3 it instantly logs out both users.

sometimes you literally click "login" and it kicks you right back to the login screen.

For some reason, Typo3 is using the SAME session ID for everyone who logs in.

has anyone run into this issue before?
