[TYPO3-english] RTE and image selection

Recently, for some reason, image selection for the RTE has become disabled.

While editing text in the RTE, you can click on the image icon via the
toolbar and the image browser does come up. However, all image titles shown
on the right side of the image browser are no longer hyper linked.

I've double checked that DAM enables images in RTE, the RTE TS is Typical
and even disabled recently installed extensions to try to figure this out.

Any ideas to getting image selection working again for the RTE?
