[TYPO3-english] indexed search finds pages that are not indexed. why?

followup: Via phpMyAdmin I could see that the tables starting with 
index_ weren't empty (even though I cleared the index via backend; 
Info->Indexed Search). So I emptied all the index_* tables and cleared 
all caches from the backend (to be on the safe side).
Still, the search spits out the right results to my earch terms, very 
strange...
