[TYPO3-english] tt_news with custom fields

hi,

i have to add some custom fields to tt_news. it's easy to do with a new
extension that extends the database table but the new fields all get added
in an extra tab called "extended" in the backend.

is it possible to define the placement of the new fields myself? i would
prefer to have them in the tabs that already where there previously. how
would i do that?



another question...

i have to show a list of the news articles in the frontend and i have to
provide sorting options for the page visitors that also include the new
custom fields. how would i best do that? i hope this is easy to do?

i would be very thankful for any tips! :)
