Sorry, but I have to disagree here. There is really no reason why these 
tables couldn't follow the TYPO3 conventions and be DBAL compatible. 
It's just a matter of defining them in the right file. Tables in 
ext_tables.sql will be accepted by the Install Tool COMPARE script. It 
doesn't have to have a TCA.

Why?? The TYPO3 Core does not need to take things into account which do 
not follow TYPO3 conventions.
