a good (or bad?) example how the usage of forge excludes a lot of TYPO3-
users.
IMHO avoiding TER will reduce the community by too much complexity.
One big advantage of TYOP3 _was_ the easy way to get new extensions by 
TER. Nowadays a lot of new (or updated or patched) extensions are only 
available on forge where they are locked from easy usage.

every answer 'get it from forge' shows the snobbishness of a developer 
over community.
