[TYPO3-english] special characters like ö

Hello again,

I am trying to create the page content:

"Hügenhägön"

but I get the following error:

102: These fields are not properly updated in database: (bodytext) 
Probably value mismatch with fieldtype.

I am suspecting the special characters to be the culprit.

Will I have to change my database format? My typo3-database contains a 
bunch of tables of type "MyISAM" and "InnoDB", and the collation for all 
tables is "utf8_general_ci"
