[TYPO3-english] Error 500

I have written my first extension and when I view the plugin from the "View"
option, the plugin works as it should.

 

However, if I open a new browser window and go to that page, I get an Error
500.  Since the plugin works in view mode, I am assuming all the code is ok.
Are there any little things I may be overlooking that someone else has
experienced?
