[TYPO3-english] Plugin Created With Kickstarter And 500 Error

I'm working on a plugin created with the Extension kickstarter. Several
times now the plugin crashes because of a syntax error or something else I
screwed up.

 

My problem is when the plugin throws a 500 error the page seems to become
corrupt. I can even delete the plugin from the page (leaving an empty page)
and still get the 500 error after the cache is cleared. The only way I have
found to get around this is to delete the page and recreate it. Surely there
has to be an easier way. What am I missing?
