I wonder which documentation you are talking about, the latest i can 
find is for 1.7.0, which is the latest version of the extension.

But many people find that Dmitry's tutorials at his website: 
http://dmitry-dulepov.com/article/realurl-made-easy-part-1.html are much 
easier to understand.
