This is correct. There is a feature request pending in the DAM bugtracker:

http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=7512

But unfortuantely until tomorrow no one could be found to code this.

Please post further questions to the DAM project list, i.e. if you want 
to find someone to code this feature.
