The patch solved the bug as small as possible.
I see no reason to restrict datatypes of conf-values to string or integer.

All right, I'll add some more lines to the function so that the 
select-statement allows stdWrap for all conf-values where it makes sense.

What is the "autocreating patch mechanism" exactly?
