[TYPO3-english] Email Address Subscription - Spam?

Hi

I a week ago I implemented the Email Address Subscription plugin.

Now, a week later I have 32 confirmed subscribers to the newsletter.

But I have 77 unconfirmed/hidden subscribers.

When I use an email address verification program to test the addresses, 
it seems that all the unconfirmed addresses are fake.

Is it normal to get that many fake subscriptions?

Is there a way to avoid it?
