I already tried that. It does work, but this isn't ideal either. I have 
content in 2 columns and use a tt_news plugin in both to show different 
info (the news item and a list of related items) in different parts of 
the page. So I'll also have to (partly) empty the 2nd column. Some 
things do have to stay in the second column.

If nothing else works I'll probably still use this and completely empty 
the second column as well, but it's not ideal so I'll keep trying for now.
