[TYPO3-english] cObj and Markers problem

Hello group,

I am currently building my own extension that is used by mnogosearch.
In the function I'm writing I want to fill some markers in the template.
$this->cObj is not available as it is NULL.
The function I'm writing has two parameters (&$params, &$reference).
$params['pObj'] contains a cObj (content object). With this I can read 
the template file and fill the markers. Problem is that these are not 
included in the final page. Is this because I'm not using some global 
content Object?
