[TYPO3-english] localization of plugin : database related fields are double with localized values

Hey,

I'm  building a plugin with 2 languages: default and French.
the plugin has several tables and the editor can create several elements.
for ex: there is a table for locations and a table for staff-members.
when created a staff-member, this element can be translated to french. 
Normaly, there is no need to translate everything, only the description 
of this staff member. TYPO3 will inherit the blank fields of the 
translation with the default data.

Once a staff member is created, he can be assigned to a location by the 
editor by selecting the name of that staff-member out of a list 
(database related field : dropdown)

now my problem is: the name of the staff member will be displayed twice 
in the location element, regarding the localization i have choosen.
Once for the default language, and another time for the translation.

What i would like is to get a list of staff members in the same language 
as the choosen language of the 'location' element and, ofcourse, only 
listed once.


anyone who can give me a push in the right direction?
