[TYPO3-english] Unusual installing of TYPO3

I use now the following:

Ubuntu-8.10-server under VMWare player.
/var/www/localhost as symlink to /mnt/hgfs/www (shared folder w:\www\html)
with full installation (the laziest way) - works well.
But it seems that mysql doesn't see my symlink /var/lib/mysql/myste (shared
folder w:\www\mysql) so i use DB inside VM.
