     If your news are coming from same instance of plugin (Latest) on home
page and you want one those news's title be cropped only and not of other
fours'
Since they are on same page so you can't apply a different extension
template(typoscript).
Probably use List view of news for one whose header you want to be cropped
and leave rest four to be of type Latest, this way you would be able to
limit no. of characters for List only be inserting
plugin.tt_news.displayList.title_stdWrap.crop = 100
