Hi Wolfgang,
Upgrading within the 4.1.x-branch should be very easy. The RTE problem will be fixed as it was an open issue some time ago that was explicitly fixed in one of the point releases. Also: you're running a *VERY* insecure setup like this, vulnerable to quite a few known security issues! You're very lucky your site wasn't hacked yet.. Those issues were also fixed in later releases.
