[TYPO3] removing trees (last newbie question)

in the process of learning typo3 i created many trees (sites)

now that i think i have a decent handle on how things work i would like 
to start building a real site, however

i would like that to be id = 0 for the index.php

is this possible or would i be better off with a new database ?

i promise to contribute once i get more into the swing of things, and 
will help with translations as well.
