Here prototype is twice as fast as JQuery... (62ms vs 113ms)

I do strongly believe that feature richness and stability is more  
important
then some framework is faster then a other framework (unless really  
slow for a other)
In the given testcase only DOM selections are done, and this is not  
what any CMS need (directly).

I do understand the reason for using prototype over anything else in  
TYPO3...........
