I don't quite know, perhaps with a bit more detail I can give a more definitive answer

There's a lot you can do with htaccess though

Okay Bluezman

I understand htaccess
I take it you mean depending on what your ip range is your are directed 
to two different login pages?
but my only problem is registration is not required to visit the site 
just the level of data displayed so login page is a sub page can I still 
use htaccess to serve that special login page?
