[TYPO3] External Link Typoscripting

Hi All,

I have a set as follows:

When a person clicks on a certain page on our site a The Typoscript  
setup for that page calls a PHP script that records some information  
about the session (the user has to be logged in so we record the uid  
and the pid in a mysql table).

A bit of a problem I ran into is that if the page the person is  
clicking on is an External URL the TypoScript Setup isn't executed and  
thus our PHP script that records the session isn't executed.

Can anyone suggest a work around for this?
