[TYPO3-english] Small question about DB encoding

I mean here, that, when I save in TYPO3 BE some non-latin character
- f.e. umlaut - it isn't shown as umlaut in DB.
But if I input directly this umlaut in DB, it willn't be shown as
umlaut at TYPO3 BE.
