[TYPO3-english] Problem Typo3 4.2.2 and Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8

Hi Justin,
Maybe I'm not reading your mail correctly, but I have the feeling your
mixing some things up here.

Apparently you can log in on TYPO3 4.2.0, but not on 4.2.2. Did you
upgrade 4.2.0 to 4.2.2 and did the problems start at this point? Or are
you running both versions on separate sites?

Problems with logging in usually have their cause in database issues,
JavaScript being turned off in the browser, or cookies not being
accepted for some reason. By default any halfway recent version of IE is
set to function correctly with TYPO3, except maybe when you're trying to
use IE from a Windows Server product where it's very much locked down by
default.

What I'd like to know is if you can log in to 4.2.2 using a browser
other than IE. If not, the problem is most likely with your TYPO3
installation (check the database!). If you can log in, then there's
probably some setting in IE that's causing trouble.. like cookies or
JavaScript.

Personally I haven't been able to reproduce your issue on a clean 4.2.2
installation using IE.

With regards,
Bas

PS. If you upgraded from 4.2.0 to 4.2.2 you did perform a test before
you went live with it, right?
