Thanks. Well... it *is* off. But looks like I definitely have to check 
that PHP-Bug here http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=39361 (even though I 
hope the PHP-version my provider uses is newer...)

If I turn it on the whole page is a complete desaster ;-) Dozens of 
mbstring-errors at every page.

Analysing the code? Well... yeah... I guess I will first ask my provider 
if he couldn't upgrade PHP ;-) The other solution just needs a lot of 
time... but if needed I will have to do it (you'll get the codelines if 
I manage to fix something).
