[TYPO3] Replace images used in pages

Hello world,

is there any efficient way to replace an existing image in /fileadmin 
and make sure that any copies of it in /uploads are regenerated too?

I always have problems after updating images that are already used in 
somewhere in my website. After replacing the image in /fileadmin I have 
to find all usages of it all over the website and have to reselect the 
selected images on each page, which is both time consuming and error-prone.
