Ah, I think you are right Alex - it is only for the BE. I've tested the
form with a non-float number and the value defaults to 0. The field
isn't all that critical so that's not too bad.

I think the validation you set in the kickstarter is only for editing in
the
backend.

I'm not that experienced with the sr_feuser_register extension but I
would
guess that it does some validation at some point (Email, Required
fields...)
Maybe you can extend the validation functionality of sr_feuser_register
for
your purpose.
