[TYPO3] FE / BE login

Hello,

After having created a few websites with only BE users, I'm starting to 
have need for FE users...

But I'm a bit lost with what should I do...

There is a built-in FE login plugin in 4.2.1. I see in TER that there 
exists extensions to grant BE rights to FE users (simulatebe) and so on.

What I would like to have is a single login page that would allow FE and 
BE users to authenticate. A BE user which has editing rights should be 
able to have same permissions regarding the rendered part of the site as 
a FE-only user. Perhaps with a question for BE users when then 
authenticate such as "Would you like to go to FE or to BE?" Something 
like that.

Is kb_md5fepw still needed?

And finally I'll need a way to let users (BE and FE) to store their 
login info into a cookie (sg_feautologin needed?) and, perhaps, at a 
letter point let users have SSO with OpenID for instance (naw_openid and 
  naw_openid_be I would say).

Any advice? I would like to avoid having to install 10 "partial" and 
somehow deprecated extensions for this task.
