[TYPO3] Thumbnails problem

guys,
I am having this strange problem with thumbnails...
on my local I did not see thumbnails in the BE ( just qustions 
placeholders ). That did not bother me much. Once I moved the site to 
thirdparty hosting the thumbnails started showing up on the BE but all 
images in the FE stopped coming up.
I am sure it is because of imagemagick settings but have no clue how to 
approach this since do not see anything in the logs or anywhere else.

please give me some direction here.
