[TYPO3] simulate static and umlauts

Hi folks,
I remember there was quite some time ago a discussion of this issue, but 
no solution then if I remember correctly.

ä and ö letters are written ae and oe and much more logical and cleaner 
would be pure a and o.

For example in finnish we can have a page: www.mydomain.fi/pääsiäinen 
and this would be www.mydomain.fi/paeaesiaeinen - and nobody understands 
anything anymore :-P

I couldn't find anything about this in tsref or elsewhere. Maybe this is 
not a TYPO3 issue at all?
