Hi,

Yes, you could also point the symlinks of t3lib, etc. to 'typo3_src' for 
easier upgrading - that way you only need to change typo3_src to point 
to the newest t3 version instead of changing them all.

/www/typo3_src-4.2.3
/www/html/fileadmin
/www/html/t3lib --> typo3_src/t3lib
/www/html/typo3 --> typo3_src/typo3
/www/html/typo3_src --> ../typo3_src-4.2.3
