[TYPO3-english] Typo3-source mapped outside of webfolder

Hello

In many server structure the folder /www/html/ is the root folder for 
homepage.
Should TYPO3 work 100% with dummy package in /www/html/ and the source 
package in /www/ and all the symlinks pointing to the right folders in the 
source package?

The structure is like this

/www/typo3_src-4.2.3
/www/html/fileadmin
/www/html/t3lib --> /www/typo3_src-4.2.3/t3lib
/www/html/typo3 --> /www/typo3_src-4.2.3/typo3
/www/html/typo3_src --> /www/typo3_src-4.2.3
and so on
