[TYPO3] extra gap after a header

Hi all,

I have in template constants

content.space = 0|0
content.wrap.header3 = <h3>|</h3>
content.wrap.header = |

Still I get this in html:
<h3>The header</h3><img src="clear.gif" width="1" height="5" border="0" 
class="spacer-gif" alt="" title="" /><br /><p>blaahblaah....

So there are two extra gaps: spacer image 5px and a br tag.

Where do these come from?

(BTW cssstyledcontent is not in use, only styles.content and content are 
included as static)
