For the frontend-groups-field try to use TSconfig with TCAdefaults  
(http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/references/doc_core_tsconfig/4.1.0/view/1/2/#id3822379).  
If that doesnt work, you can try a default-value for that field in the  
$TCA...
