[TYPO3] A very simple TYPOScript problem

HI

I have a site with 5 divisions and numerous subdivisions.

I would like to display the division name on each page in
the subdivisions.

I have so far created a template ext. on each division and typed in the 
following:

lib.siteName = TEXT
lib.siteName.field = title

and also tried

lib.siteName = TEXT
lib.siteName.value.field = title

But it does not work.

And yes I have been looking in the TSref.
