[TYPO3] how to actually work with typo3?

The main problem we have found is that using Typo3 in a multilanguage
environment is quite challenging!

Our primary problems (and I know others have found this) are in
developing the one-tree model where the alternative language (especially
if it isn't one of the languages listed) takes second place over the
default language in many basic areas such as:

Creating a standard a href link to the alternative language (has to be
manually edited or RTE produces an error)
External link page type
Anchors
Allowing TV templates to be language dependant
(.. and many more)

To enable typo3 to be a truly customisable multilanguage application
would be a great thing!

Yours
Sara
