[TYPO3] Restricting domains by IP address in a one-tree structure

Dear all,

I have an intranet domain in my Typo3 structure which I need to restrict 
by IP address. The domains are all setup and working in Typo3.

As its the same document root as the main site I cannot find any way of 
doing this in Apache.

Does anyone have experience of creating an intranet this way and how do 
I restrict access to a domain and not a directory??
