[TYPO3] make typo3 survive server upgrade

Hi Bing,

What version of mySQL are you currently running? 4.0.x or 4.1.x?

I've had a few issues in the past upgrading UTF8 Typo3 installs running 
on 4.0.x up to 4.1.x / 5.x.
