[TYPO3] [Typo3] Watermark all images automatically via gifbuilder??

Hi list ,
 I came across an old thread from 2005 in which a Carlos describes how
he has edited the gifbuilder feature of typo3 to automatically
watermark all images on the site. He says that if anyone wants the
script, that one should simply email him and he'd send it. However,
since this message thread is from 2005, the email given on the message
thread does not work anymore.

Here is what he wrote back in 2005:

I have a client who needed a watermark feature for his site:

Each thumbnail displayed on the image gallery opens a watermarked image.

The watermark was made customizing the function responsable of the GIFBUILDER,
so now the "file" property of the cObject IMAGE accepts "WATERMARK" as well as
GIFBUILDER, via XCLASS method..

Once the image is made with the watermark, it is cached in the typo3temp dir.
Only if some configuration changes - watermark file, jpg quality, watermark
position, etc - the cache is generated again. So when the image is called for
the first time, it generates the image. (I whish this could have been done more
in a "typo3" way, but dont know how the images are cached by typo3).

Also made a custom backend module, so the images can be watermarked and cached
before any user comes to the site.

If you are interested, please let me know to post/send the scripts.

BTW: For it to work, I needed to upgrade to GD 2+.

Does anyone have this script that he's talking about? Or have any idea
how one would do what he describes? Also, check out the site that uses
gifbuilder at http://www.lacascara.tv as well. It seems to work well.

If anyone has any information or insight into this matter please contribute!
