[TYPO3] Dynamic content in a content element of type "table"

Just wondering whether it is possible to include dynamic content in a 
"table" content element with a userfunc

something like:

item|price
widget123|<some way to call user_mylib->getPrice with parameters>

Any pointers will be appreciated.
I could make a javascript function to get the price in the cell; is 
there a more natural approach?
