[TYPO3] Two (or more) space characters converted to nothing!

Hi,

If a text element has two (or more) space characters in tt_content, then 
there is no space at all in the output!

Example:

If the text element in tt_content is:

   Here are two space  characters

Then the FE output becomes:

   Here are two spacecharacters

Any ideas where to fix this?
