Hi,
the email below has been published on the Australian user group list
before but did not get any response. As the Australian list is very low
volume, I suspect that some people that are concerned by this might not
be on it. Therefore I've decided to re-send the message to the English
list. See below for more details.

My apologies to everyone this does not concern at all.

Cheers,
Christian

Launch of TYPO3 user group in Melbourne/Australia
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
I've posted this idea more than half a year ago already but never
followed up on it. Meanwhile I have got involved in TYPO3 again working
for Cerebrum (Aust) Pty Ltd. in Melbourne and have also had the time to
look around for a venue. ust before Christmas I talked to Justin, the
owner of Horse Bazaar on Lt. Lonsdale St
(http://www.horsebazaar.com.au/) and he is very keen to provide us with
whatever we might need for a user group meeting. They have a wireless
hot spot there and it is also possible to use projectors in case we
wanted to have talks.

However, there are 2 more crucial parts missing now. For one we need
people to attend the meeting, of course. I've seen at least 2 or 3
Melburnians on the list before and am wondering if you (and whoever
else there is in Melbourne) would be interested.
Secondly we need a time. I would suggest a monthly meeting as is common
with most user groups. As most other user groups meet either around the
beginning or towards the end of the month, I would suggest a mid-month
meeting to not collide with any other UG meeting. My suggestion would
be the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of the month. I realise that this is harder
to memorise than first or last but I would be willing to send out
reminders.

Now this is all up to you fellow Melburnians. Any suggestions are
welcome.

Cheers,
Christian
