[TYPO3] Cannot login backend with standard username and password

Hi,

it's been a while since I've been on this list.
I'm now trying to install typo3 version 4.0.4 on a windows machine with 
PHP 5.1.4 and mysql 5.0.
Everything went smooth but I can't login to the backend using the 
standard admin username and password.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm sure there will be a simple 
solution.
