[TYPO3] A serious question about extension development

Hi guys!
I have been looking very often at TER in the last couple of months,
hoping that there'll be a new (stable) version of tt_news, chc_forum,
cwt_community, dam and others.. I did not find anything, because nothing
new has been uploaded as it looks like.

I think this is very sad, because there are so many bugs listed in
bugtracker and features listed in the feature lists, but there's noone
who's willing or able to create a new version. Some people are ill, some
are snowboarding in their holidays, .. (which is of course right)

Well I asked myself, whether it would be a solution to open extension
development in order to have more devs out there (than just the ext
owner) that are able to do stuff which can be then published on TER.

As I understood the XCLASS system doesn't allow to do endless changes,
so you can't just create thousands of extensions that are extending the
same part of T3 or an extension.

So what about creating a svn repository and ask all the ext owners out
there whether they want to participate and upload their stuff on such a
plattform, where _everyone_ can code parts of an ext and then upload it
somehow, so that a team (or the ext owner) can verify the code and then
integrate it with a single click..

It's not an easy task to get something like this working and it would
consume a lot of system resources i guess, but it would be a step
further on 'Inspiring people to share'..

So what do you think?

Andreas
