[TYPO3] Searching for whole words only in indexed_search

Hi,
I have performance issues with indexed_search (see thread
"indexed_search can congest MySQL server for long time"). In the long
run I'll consider switching to mnogoSearch but for now I only want to
follow the advice that Kasper gives in here[1] and disable the search
for word fractions. However, the indexed_search manual is incomplete
and looking through the code didn't help with a quick answer, either.
As the names in TS are not very telling, that didn't get me anywhere,
either.

Can anybody tell me how to configure "distinct" search in TS?
