[TYPO3] Is there a spam protection within tt_news?

what exactly does not work? I have just tested the protection
successfully when displaying the the author field of a tt_news using the
default css based template shipped with tt_news. It also works for me
using the RTE within the text field.

So please be a more specific about what does not work ;-)
