Hi Ingmar,

There's also a different approach to this problem:

You can create a group called something like 'everybody' which contains only the 
most basic options and permissions, those that all BE users should have.
All users should be member of this group. By making sure this is the first group 
they are a member of, the pages they create will belong to this group.

For users that need more permissions you can create additional groups, with 
access to more db-mounts, etc.

Just see what suits your situation; you can also combine those methods.
